Meal Plan, Week 5

Oh my goodness, it's Superbowl weekend!  I hope your plans include lots of fun with family and friends.  When I did last week's Meal Plan I forgot that, the Sunday I was planning for, was Superbowl Sunday!  So we'll be changing the menu around a little bit.  Superbowl Sunday has traditionally been a junk food day in our house-after all, it is a snack food festival!  It's one of those days when we eat things that we don't normally eat-and one of the ways I'm able to let my family indulge on these treats, but still feed them reasonably healthy food the rest of the time.

Every year we have rotel dip.  It's one of my family favorites, and they love it.  I hate cooking it because it uses shelf stable cheese, and I haven't explored to make it healthier.  So they will get it, just for the Superbowl.  We'll also be having seven layer dip, hot wings, and chicken nuggets.  Of course, I'll have chips and French Onion dip-that's one of my favorites so we always have it that day, and some kind of sweet treat.  I hope you have a fun family game day as well!

Here's the meal plan for the rest of the week

Monday:  Baked Ziti (if I can't find whole wheat ziti, I'll use a different type of pasta), Salad, Garlic Bread (Using the sauce I froze a few weeks ago)
Tuesday:  Chicken Noodle Soup
Wednesday:  Sour Cream Pork Chops, Cornbread Stuffing, Carrots
Thursday:  Shepherd's Pie
Friday:  Chunky Potato Soup
Saturday:  Meatloaf, Creamy Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans
Sunday:  Sloppy Joes, Seasoned Fries
